The award was presented during NJBIA's 46th annual New Good Neighbor Awards Luncheon.

June 2 at the Sheraton at Woodbridge Place in Iselin.

“A 290,000-square-foot office building in Linwood that lay vacant and deteriorating since the mid-1990s has been reborn as The Cornerstone Commerce Center,” Kirschner said.  “The redevelopment has brought Linwood high-quality office space, high-end retail stores, and more than 500 new jobs.”

Thanks to the Karman Development Group’s $35-million renovation, this once outdated building is now a state-of-the-art office/retail complex.  It features several retail stores, as well as an upscale restaurant and a café.  In addition to the 500 permanent jobs created, renovations supported another 450 union construction jobs.

David Rudzenski Architects of Voorhees designed the renovations and Karman Development Group , LLC carried them out.  The project was jointly nominated by Atlantic County Executive Dennis Levinson and Linwood Mayor Richard DePamphilis, III.

The New Good Neighbor Awards Luncheon annually brings together a dynamic group of builders, architects, engineers and others in the development community to honor those responsible for the State’s most impressive new commercial construction and renovation projects. An independent panel of 23 judges selected the 12 winners based on economic impact, architectural merit and community involvement.   In all, 29 applications representing more than $600 million in construction costs and 7,000 jobs were submitted.

With more than 23,500 members, NJBIA is the nation’s largest state-level employers association.  New Jersey Business magazine is NJBIA’s flagship publication.
