The New Jersey Business & Industry Association (NJBIA) and New Jersey Business magazine recently honored Meadow Wood Manor, a reproduction of a 1776-period Georgian Mansion in Randolph, with a 2006 New Good Neighbor Award.

NJBIA President Philip Kirschner presented the award to Meadow Wood Partners Jeffrey and Maureen Beers at the 46th Annual New Good Neighbor Awards luncheon, held June 2 at the Sheraton at Woodbridge Place in Iselin.

Meadow Wood is a reproduction of a 1776 Georgian Mansion that serves as a dining and catering facility.

“This project creates nothing less than a new colonial landmark in Morris County,” Kirschner said.  “Meadow Wood Manor blends old club charm and a Revolutionary War atmosphere with the modern amenities needed in today’s business world.”

The 40,000-square-foot Meadow Wood Manor is a $7-million fine dining and off-premises catering facility that can host business events for up to 350 guests in forum or theater style.

The clapboard exterior evokes the classic Georgian Mansion style, while the interior sports dignified embellishments like fine wood paneling, alabaster chandeliers, landscape paintings, plush carpeting and antique credenzas.

The facility employs 40 full-time and 35 part-time workers. Corporate planners on staff are able to handle every detail of a business meeting, from food service to audio/visual and computer presentation set-ups. The building also offers wireless and hard-wired communications.

Meadow Wood Manor is owned by Jeff Beers, Jim Finnegan and Jack Welch, partners in Randolph restaurants, LLC. Al Bol Architecture of Berkeley Heights designed Meadow Wood, and Stateline Construction of Sloatsburg, New York, built the facility.  State Senator Anthony Bucco nominated the project.

The New Good Neighbor Awards Luncheon annually brings together a dynamic group of builders, architects, engineers and others in the development community to honor those responsible for the State’s most impressive new commercial construction and renovation projects. An independent panel of 23 judges selected the 12 winners based on economic impact, architectural merit and community involvement.   In all, 29 applications representing more than $600 million in construction costs and 7,000 jobs were submitted.

With more than 23,500 members, NJBIA is the nation’s largest state-level employers association.  New Jersey Business magazine is NJBIA’s flagship publication.
