companies to receive a 2006 Enterprise Award from NJBIA.  It was one of only nine companies overall receiving the Association’s Award for Excellence in four categories.

“Our Awards for Excellence winners have had a notably positive impact on the lives of their employees, their communities, the environment, and New Jersey,” said NJBIA President Philip Kirschner, who presented the awards October 17 at a dinner at the Hilton East Brunswick.

“DSCI is focused on both rapid technological and company growth as a means to its immediate and future success.”

DSCI balances its growth and development with vital technical service to the U.S. Department of Defense. An employee-owned small business, DSCI represents rapid growth and job creation for New Jersey. In fact, dramatic increases in high-tech, high-wage positions in New Jersey can be directly linked to increased business with the defense industry and demand for innovative technology products. DSCI is proud to support the U.S. Army’s top priority program (Future Combat System). The company also provides highly technical engineering and modeling support to the local Fort Monmouth project office.

Since 2004, DSCI has created 77 new high-tech jobs in New Jersey. This exciting progress can be directly linked to DSCI’s internal investments in research and development of analytical tools and models and products, coupled with the activity of support to various Department of Defense agencies. In turn, this rapid growth has required DSCI to move from a 5,000-square-foot facility to a 27,000-square-foot facility with three high-tech labs.

This exciting employee and facility expansion has led to additional employee growth as the new facility requires personnel to manage it. Thirty two of the 77 new jobs were added in the first part of 2006, and another 26 high-tech positions were added after this award nomination was submitted, bringing the total number of new jobs to 103. DSCI now has more than 160 full-time employees in New Jersey and is looking forward to additional growth and expansion in the future.

Since 1984, NJBIA annually has honored a select group of its members with an Award for Excellence. The winners demonstrate outstanding achievements in one of four award categories: Environmental Quality, Outstanding Employer, Enterprise and Public Service. All 23,000 NJBIA member companies in good standing are eligible to be nominated.

An independent panel of judges volunteered their time to conduct the judging and select the winners.  Mercadien P.C. Certified Public Accountants of Princeton verified the information supplied by the winning applicants.

With more than 23,000 members, NJBIA is the nation’s largest state-level employer association.
