Apex Technology Group was one of ten companies receiving awards at NJBIA’s 2007 Awards for Excellence Dinner held at the Pines Manor in Edison on October 16.

“It always gives us great pleasure to recognize the outstanding achievements of our member companies.  Each of our winners has a wonderful story that deserves to be told,” said NJBIA President Philip Kirschner.

When Apex Technology Group first got into the Information Technology services industry, generating immediate sales was not the primary goal.  Instead, the company initially spent its time investing in infrastructure, building and establishing relationships with clients, and developing expertise in various aspects of the IT business.

In fact, when it started full-fledged operations in 2004, the company had only two full-time employees.

That deliberate, patient approach has paid off.  Today, the company offers IT consulting, project management, application integration and corporate IT training to companies across the United States.  The company also has an international presence in India, with both a development and sales office.

As the company’s reputation has grown, so has its workforce.  In 2005, Apex added 43 new jobs.  In 2006, it added another 60, bringing total New Jersey employment to more than 100 in just two years.  The company’s future is just as bright as it anticipates adding another 200 jobs in 2007, which would bring its worldwide workforce to more than 300.

Since 1984, NJBIA annually has honored a select group of its members with its Awards for Excellence.  The Awards for Excellence winners demonstrate outstanding achievements in one of four categories:  Job Creation, Outstanding Employer, Environmental Quality and Public Service.  All 23,000 member companies in good standing are eligible to be nominated.

An independent panel of judges, who volunteer their time to conduct the judging, reviewed the nominations.  This year’s judging panel included individuals from the Service Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE) and the NJBIA policy committees.

Mercadien P.C. Certified Public Accountants of Princeton verified the information supplied by the winning applicants.

With more than 23,000 members, NJBIA is the nation’s largest State-level employer association.
