DataPipe, Inc. is a great example of how a small company can have a big impact in today’s global economy. Since its creation in 1998, DataPipe has become one of the leading providers of managed Web and computer network hosting and security services, providing first-rate service for mid-market and Fortune 1000 companies, as well as State and federal agencies.
Its headquarters may be in Jersey City, but DataPipe’s reach extends across the United States, through Europe, and all the way into Asia.
That reach has translated into quality jobs for the Garden State. The company’s biggest period of growth occurred between January 2006 and March of this year, when it added 54 new jobs to its New Jersey workforce, and it plans to add more jobs before the end of the year. DataPipe has increased its worldwide workforce to 189 employees today from 123 employees in 2005.
A majority of the jobs are in highly desirable technology fields like project management, data center technicians, Unix and Windows support, and database administration. These are high-skill jobs that pay salaries that are well above average.
Since 1984, NJBIA annually has honored a select group of its members with its Awards for Excellence. The Awards for Excellence winners demonstrate outstanding achievements in one of four categories: Job Creation, Outstanding Employer, Environmental Quality and Public Service. All 23,000 member companies in good standing are eligible to be nominated.
An independent panel of judges, who volunteer their time to conduct the judging, reviewed the nominations. This year’s judging panel included individuals from the Service Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE) and the NJBIA policy committees.
Mercadien P.C. Certified Public Accountants of Princeton verified the information supplied by the winning applicants.
With more than 23,000 members, NJBIA is the nation’s largest State-level employer association.
