NJBIA manufacturers lined the halls of the State House on December 15, showing Governor Jon Corzine, Senate President Richard Codey, Assembly Speaker Joseph Roberts, legislators and the media what they make, how they make it, and what New Jersey should do to help manufacturing succeed.

It was all part of NJBIA’s Made in New Jersey Day, designed to highlight the products and innovations of New Jersey manufacturers, according to NJBIA President Philip Kirschner.

“Our manufacturers are amazing,” Kirschner said. “Year in and year out they stand up to fierce global competition while operating in one of the highest cost states in the nation. They provide quality jobs and good benefits. Manufacturing in New Jersey has a great story to tell and Made in New Jersey Day is our chance to tell it.”
The exhibits ran the gamut from baseball bats used by Major League baseball players and integrated communications systems used by the US Navy to bus shelters and innovative gardening tools.

Akadema is a manufacturer of baseball products that are used by Major League players such as Manny Ramirez. The company manufactures a series of baseball gloves and baseball bats in New Jersey.

Artisans of the Valley - Pennington
Artisans of the Valley creates handcrafted, custom period and original design furniture, woodcarvings, and sculptures. They produce museum quality antique and collectable restoration, furniture refinishing, and on-site furniture touch-up and repair.

Blonder Tongue Laboratories, Inc. - Old Bridge
Blonder Tongue designs and manufactures equipment to deliver analog video, digital video (standard and high definition), and highspeed data over integrated coaxial and fiber optic broadband networks today and over packet based, Internet protocol networks of the future.

Concord Products - Belmawr
Concord Products has been manufacturing fine office furnishings since 1968. They are the only truly GREEN Furniture Manufacturer in North America that offers a furniture buyback program of its own products.

ConocoPhillips Bayway Refinery - Linden
Bayway is the largest oil refinery on the US East Coast which safely and reliably manufactures a range of products including clean fuels, plastic resins, and chemical feedstocks.

Creative Film was established in 2002 as a manufacturer of decorative plastic films used in the sign industry, packaging and displays sold throughout the world.

Eastern Tea Company, Inc. - Monroe Twp. (Middlesex County)
Eastern Tea has been importing, blending and packaging tea bags for over 50 years. Their Bromley line of fine teas can be found on the shelves of most local grocery stores. Eastern Tea also produces private label tea bags for other marketers of teas as well as leading grocery and foodservice outlets .

EPV Solar, Inc. - Robbinsville
EPV Solar, Inc. designs, manufactures, and markets thin-film amorphous silicon photovoltaic modules. The company, in operation for 17 years, is the only thin-film module manufacturer in New Jersey.

Falstrom Company - Passaic
Falstrom Company is a contract manufacturer of custom enclosures and electromechanical assemblies primarily for the defense industry. Established in 1870, Falstrom Company’s products are found in power plant control systems, sonar systems, radar systems and data sharing applications.

Gerdau Ameristeel - Sayreville & Perth Amboy
Gerdau Ameristeel is the second largest producer of recycled steel products in North America, including steel reinforcing bars (rebar), merchant bars, wire rod, nails, welded wire mesh, railroad spikes, structural shapes, and pilings. The company is New Jersey’s largest recycler and only steelmaker.

Handi-Hut Inc. / Dome’l Inc. - Clifton
Handi-Hut Inc. manufactures outdoor smoking shelters, bus passenger shelters, entry canopies, walkway covers and more. Their affiliate Dome’l Inc., manufacturers residential and commercial skylight systems, and exterior swing doors for balconies and terraces of multi-story buildings.

Heat-Timer Corporation - Fairfield
Heat-Timer Corporation manufactures heating and boiler control systems that significantly reduce energy consumption and air pollution in multi-family, commercial, government and educational buildings.

L-3 Communication Systems - East - Camden
L-3 Communication Systems - East designs, develops, and produces integrated Navy communication systems, integrated space communications and RF payloads, recording systems, secure communications, and information security systems for various government agencies and the US Department of Homeland Security.
