With the employment market strong and getting stronger, competition for the best employees is at a premium. According to Gallup, however, companies are missing opportunities to attract the best candidates because they are not making the right pitch.

In a recent Business Journal article, Gallup reported that for the first time in 15 years, a majority (54 percent) of Americans say now is a “good time” to find a quality job. And 51 percent of U.S. workers say they are considering new employment opportunities.

“The trouble is, today’s jobseekers — particularly job-hopping millennials — want things that aren’t conveyed in typical job postings,” Gallup says. “They seek companies that feed their desire for meaning and purpose — and run-of-the-mill job ads and career websites rarely differentiate companies or showcase purpose-centric cultures.”
