Affordable Employee Training Exclusively for NJBIA Members LEARN MORE

The Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst (MDL) Commanders recently selected Fred Brody, owner of Brody Business Development, to participate in its Honorary Commanders program. Brody, a longtime NJBIA member and a Leader for Monmouth County Employee Legislative Committee meetings, was formally inducted as an Honorary Commander for the U.S. Coast Guard Atlantic Strike Team at a Joint Base ceremony on Sept. 24.

The Atlantic Strike Team is a cadre of highly trained professionals with specialized equipment and incident management skills who can rapidly deploy to assist federal On-Scene Coordinators and Lead Agency Incident Commanders in preparing for and responding to oil discharges, hazardous materials releases, and weapons of mass destruction incidents.

A total of 75 Honorary Commanders and seven Honorary Commanders Emeriti were installed at the event. The Honorary Commanders Program facilitates communication between the MDL and surrounding communities by showcasing joint base capabilities, future leaders, and the caliber of men and women serving at the base. Honorary Commanders are selected based on their record of service to the local community and tradition of excellence in their profession.

“It is truly an honor for me to serve in this capacity and I very much look forward to networking the great work performed by the US Coast Guard Atlantic Strike Team great with our business community,” said Brody.
