The deadline for nominating projects for the 59th Annual New Good Neighbor Awards celebrating outstanding development projects has been extended until Feb. 15, the New Jersey Business & Industry Association announced Tuesday.

NJBIA membership is not a requirement and anyone can nominate a project, including their own, in one of the following three categories: new construction; renovation/expansion; or community enhancement (streetscapes or parks).

New Good Neighbor Awards

Stories about the winning projects, including their architects, builders and financing entities, will appear in New Jersey Business magazine prior to the awards celebration luncheon in July. Press releases and short videos about the winners will be

made available by NJBIA to media outlets throughout the state.

To be eligible for consideration, projects must have been completed (construction or capital expenditures) within the past two years (Jan. 1, 2017 – Dec. 31, 2018). Nominations must be made by close of business on Feb. 15 using the online form on NJBIA’s website.

Eligible nominees then will be contacted by NJBIA and asked to provide details about their projects for the independent judging committee, comprised of a cross-section of state associations and organizations. Projects will be judged on economic benefits, job creation, architectural merit and community involvement.

Last year, the 2018 New Good Neighbor Awards were presented to 14 winning development projects that collectively represented $720 million in capital investments and provided 5,924 jobs.
