This week the New Jersey Economic Development Authority (EDA) Board launched the Opportunity Zone Challenge Program aimed at supporting community efforts to attract investments in Opportunity Zones. These grants will be awarded through the program to fund municipal and county-level financial and technical planning around Opportunity Zone economic development.

The EDA also announced it will strengthen oversight of New Jersey’s economic development incentive programs by creating a hotline for whistleblowers and requiring company CEOs to certify that all documents they’ve submitted to the EDA are true once the application process is completed.
