My 17yr old son worked at a bar dishwashing/delivery. The 1st night he worked the mngr kept him to 1:00 am. He started at 5pm. I talked to owner next day and told them that can’t happen. From what I’m reading he shouldn’t even been hired because of age. Then they kept him to late, obviously.

My child was hired to work at a local ice cream stand. This is her second job. She is 15. She worked her first job for 5 hours at a fitness center. She arrived for the first day at the ice cream stand after working the five hours at the fitness center and was told that she would be working until 10:15pm. There was no break during the seven hours of her shift. Her supervisor was aware that she had already worked 5 hours that day. This seems excessive and not according to the law.
My 17 year old nephew is scheduled to work until 9:45pm punching out at 10:50pm but the manager keeps him in store (Marshalls) till 11pm!

Would a 17-year-old high school graduate need working papers for a summer job?
Thank you for reading our publication. Per the NJ Department of Labor: All minors under the age of 18 who work in New Jersey must have an employment certificate – also called “working papers.”
But what about the part where we need to fill out with the principal and the chief officers signature?
My 22 month old will be working on an independant film. They are not paying her fie her work and want her on set for 8 hours! Is this legal??
