2018 Awards for Excellence Nomination
Thank you for your interest in the New Jersey Business & Industry Association (NJBIA) Awards for Excellence competition. Nominations are now closed.
This is a two-step process. Once a company is nominated, they will be required to provide additional information that will be used for judging. A second form will be embedded in your confirmation e-mail. This information is different for each award category and if not completed, will disqualify the application.
Before completing this online nomination, take the time to carefully read the following rules and description of each category. Good luck, and we look forward to celebrating with you at this year’s Awards for Excellence event!
A nominee must be a member of the New Jersey Business & Industry Association and their dues paid in full. If you wish to inquire about the membership status of a nominee, call NJBIA’s Katie Wittkamp at 609-858-9481.
The nominator may be a representative of any private or public organization. A company may be nominated in more than one award category.
All questions must be answered and required documentation submitted. Incomplete nominations will be disqualified. Documentation must be sufficient to support the questions.
All nominations and appropriate documentation must be received by 5 p.m., May 29, 2018.
Companies who have won within the past three years cannot be nominated again in the same category.
Winners will be chosen for each award from the following three categories:
Small Business (1-25 Employees)
Medium Business (26-100 Employees)
Large Business (101 + Employees)
Community Service Award
The Community Service Award is presented to a company or organization for outstanding service in the public interest. The nominee is recognized for committed leadership in finding solutions, which go beyond corporate donations, to pressing social or economic challenges in their communities, or the state.
Throughout New Jersey’s history, employers have dedicated their organization’s resources to finding solutions to community problems. The hallmark of their actions has been the desire to give back to their communities and to serve the public interest. Nominees can be any NJBIA member whose contributions to community service have yielded real solutions to real problems. However, the nominated activity should be outside of the nominee’s normal business operations and the nominee should not profit from that activity.
Executive of the Year Award
The Executive of the Year Award is presented to an individual who has demonstrated excellence in their position as an NJBIA member company executive. The nominee has led their organization with passion and contributed to the state’s economic growth through the success of their business. The nominee is recognized for exemplary leadership and has overcome challenges to continue to advance their organization.
Outstanding Employer Award
The Outstanding Employer Award is presented to a company that has demonstrated a creative and forward-looking approach to managing their human resources, helping to make New Jersey a great place to work.
Due to changing demographics, growing competition and advancing technology, employers today are faced with enormous challenges in managing their human resources. Nominees should serve as models for other companies in meeting those challenges. These activities might include workplace safety programs, helping employees improve their skills and advance their careers, dealing creatively with changes relating to an increasingly diverse workforce and creating innovative benefits programs or support services for their workers.
All winners will be honored at an awards reception on Oct. 24, 2018. The winners will be given prominent recognition in NJBIA’s magazine, New Jersey Business, which is read by over 120,000 top executives across the state and in its daily e-news service, New Jersey Business Today. A news release announcing the winners will also be sent to media statewide.
