NJ Advance Media reports that four cities are in the running to get the state’s support for Amazon’s new headquarters: Newark, New Brunswick, Jersey City and Camden. Reporter Justin Zaremba takes a look at what each city has going for it.
Amazon opened up requests for proposals for a second headquarters with the promise of 50,000 jobs and $5 billion in private investment.
“These (New Jersey cities) are metropolitan areas with great rail access and a history of successful revitalization and redevelopment,” said NJBIA President and CEO Michele Siekerka. “These are locations that attract the next-generation worker. Ultimately, New Jersey’s greatest strengths are a highlyeducated workforce with lots of technical talent and its location.”
