Affordable Employee Training Exclusively for NJBIA Members LEARN MORE

The New Jersey Manufacturing Extension Program (NJMEP) and New Jersey Business & Industry Association (NJBIA) are co-sponsoring the 6th annual National Manufacturing Day event Friday at the Bridgewater Marriott.

The annual “Made in New Jersey” event will see hundreds of manufacturers, business and community leaders, students, and educators on hand to discuss the importance of the manufacturing industry to New Jersey’s economy. According to the Center for Manufacturing Research, New Jersey’s total manufacturing output was $44.5 billion 2015 and accounted for 7.84 percent of the state’s gross domestic product.

According to NJMEP, every $1 spent on manufacturing adds another $1.81 to the state’s economy.

A Joint Legislative resolution recognizing Manufacturing Day in New Jersey will be presented at the event, which comes just two weeks after the first meeting of the Legislature’s new bipartisan Manufacturing Caucus. The bipartisan caucus, which the NJBIA long advocated for, is designed to address solutions to the challenges New Jersey manufacturers face.

National Manufacturing Day occurs on the first Friday in October. The National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) states more than 2,500 events will take place across the country this year recognizing the day.
