The New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants (NJCPA) opened a job site to connect accounting firms, businesses and organizations that have accounting internships available in New Jersey and surrounding areas with students looking for an internship. The new service, called NJCPA Launchpad, is free for college and graduate students, while employers post internships and peruse resumes for a fee. The site, launchpad.njcpa.org, will go live Dec. 9 to search for listings but participants may begin posting jobs and resumes now.

Students must be members of the NJCPA to post their resume and search for internships but are invited to join for free. As a special promotion for students, the first 50 people who list their resumes will receive a $15 Starbucks gift card.

Employers must pay for accessibility of the site for either 60 days for $249, 90 days for $349 or 120 days for $429. Employers will receive a 20-percent discount off their internship postings through Dec. 8 with code Special20.

“We have heard many times that employers struggle with finding qualified young professionals to hire. Matching students’ talents up with an organization in need of hiring interns is a plus for both employers and students,” said Ralph Albert Thomas, CPA (DC), CGMA, CEO and executive director at NJCPA. “Accounting internships often lead to full-time employment so it’s always helpful to begin discussions.”
