While manufacturers still face more than their fair share of challenges, those in New Jersey have a lot of people working hard to create an environment where the manufacturing sector can thrive. Regular readers of New Jersey Business Today know that NJBIA is at the forefront of that group.

Today, NJBIA’s President and CEO Michele Siekerka was recognized for her role in advocating for policies that help New Jersey manufacturers. She was named No. 10 in the Manufacturing Power 50 list by NJBIZ magazine.

“As CEO of the New Jersey Business and Industry Association, Siekerka is well aware of what business owners say they need to succeed in New Jersey,” NJBIZ wrote. “NJBIA provides a variety of resources specifically for manufacturers, including the Manufacturers’ Marketplace and its wealth supply chain information.”

NJBIA has been actively championing the cause of manufacturers since it launched the “Campaign of Manufacturing Renewal” in 2003, but manufacturing has always been an integral part of what the association does. In fact, NJBIA began as the Manufacturers Association of the State of New Jersey back in 1910, something Siekerka alluded to earlier this year.

“‘Think back 110 years in manufacturing,’ Siekerka said at the 2019 Manufacturing Day event with the New Jersey Manufacturing Extension Program. ‘We represent all types of industries. Our passion starts with New Jersey manufacturers. … New Jersey manufacturing supports the economy of the world. And the NJBIA supports New Jersey manufacturing.’”
