The African American Chamber of Commerce of New Jersey (AACCNJ) has entered into a partnership with the New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA) to establish and facilitate the Small Business Bonding Readiness Assistance Program. This initiative is designed to better position New Jersey small, minority- and women-owned businesses to compete for state, county, municipal, agency or government contracts in the public sector.

The AACCNJ is dedicated to fostering a climate of business growth and plays an essential role in the economic viability of New Jersey. The AACCNJ provides a platform for small, minority- and women-owned businesses to remain competitive in New Jersey’s robust economy. As part of the Small Business Bonding Readiness Assistance Program, eligible companies will participate in technical assistance training courses to increase bonding knowledge and capacity. While the program focuses on construction and development industries, we welcome applicants from all sectors. Tuition grants will cover the cost of the training for those businesses selected to take part in the program. There will be no cost to participating small businesses.

We will be holding educational workshops throughout the state to educate and engage potential applicants. Attending businesses will benefit from accessing information and resources made publicly available without having formally enrolled in the program. As part of the educational workshops, participants should expect to:

  • Learn more about bonding and its importance
  • Gain a firm understanding of how to run your business effectively
  • Learn the steps to securing bonding
  • Review the program application process and the components of a successful application
  • Receive assistance applying through the online portal

If a business is accepted into the program, they will participate in classes taught by subject matter experts focusing on several subject areas to enhance business practices, including but not limited to: bonding, insurance, business development, financial presentation, personal credit, and business credit.

We have included information for our upcoming information workshops in the Northern, Central and Southern parts of the state below for your review. It is our hope that you will join us at one of our educational workshops and disseminate these flyers within your network, specifically to those contacts that you would feel would benefit the most.
