New Jersey, like the nation, has a shortage of healthcare professionals at just about every level, and how much they are paid is a big reason for it. At the same time, paying them more is hard when prices for treatment are dictated to healthcare providers by Medicare, Medicaid and insurance companies.

That dilemma was on full display at NJBIA’s Healthcare Town Hall: Building a Sustainable Healthcare Workforce for Tomorrow.  During a panel discussion with Health Commissioner Shereef Elnahal, M.D. and Senator Joseph Vitale, chairman of the Senate Health, Human Services and Senior Citizens Committee, two attendees presented questions about pay.
